What is happening?

Is Revenge The New Affirmative Action?
If the roles were reversed and this following video was of a 13 year old Black boy being viciously attacked (as the person taping it laughs), would this not be a national headline story?

Where are the (so-called) Black leaders and activists? Why no public outrage among the Black leadership to condemn the actions of this young Black mob of savages? [Yes... I said savages.] Perhaps, if those Black young men (above) were given stiff jail sentences for their violent act of cowardice THEN this story would have been national news worthy? Maybe then, the (so-called) Black leadership would all haul ass to Virginia to protect the civil rights of the assailants? And speaking of which... Why no public denouncement of Robert Bailey's (one of the Jena6 defendents) recent actions? Get this! Well, I'll just let the video (below) speak for itself:

**shaking my head**

And before you give me the stats of bias/disparity against minorities in the media and justice system... STOP... I'm aware of them already. Spare me! This is about taking responsibility for one's own actions... not justifying one's action by the actions of others. Yes, there are 'reasons' for everything, but none of those 'reasons' mean a damn thing to a 13 year old White boy, just trying to walk home from school only to be nearly killed by a horde of racist Black kids. Are they only concerned about what is done to them, but not what is done by them?

Equality for Blacks should not mean that they now excercise their 'freedom' to do unto White people as they've done (or do) unto them. Is revenge the new 'Affirmative Action'?

The Reason

This is a video that a friend of mine showed me and I can't help but share it with everyone.

Life

So Joy and I have been wanting to move out of NY, so much so that we were talking with my parents about moving in with them for a short time. Well, after a whole lot of prayer and advise from friends and family we have decided against it for several reasons. The biggest one being that we do not want to depend on our familys. Mainly because they have been our safety net and have always been there for either of us when we asked for help. Although I am very grateful for my family's help in the past, I have used their help as a crutch more times than I would care to admit. I want Arianna and Joy to be able to look up to me like I have always looked up to my parents. (Thanks for helping me realize this Stacey)

So, Joy and I have decided to put the move off until we can afford it with out any help from anyone. We are planning to move around the summer of next year. Nothing is set in stone but that is the goal that we have set for ourselves.

Everything is going as good as it can be for a new family starting out. Arianna is as healthy as she can be. She has a little case of thrush (a mild yeast infection) but it is clearing up nicely. Joy is settling back in to her job at Staples, and I am loving the time I get to spent with Arianna during the day. Well that's about it for now...
