Luke 6:38

I would like to address something that the Lord has shown me and I would like to share with you.

Luk 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Luk 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luk 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
Luk 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Luk 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Luk 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Luk 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
Luk 6:34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
Luk 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Luk 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Luk 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Jesus is teaching on how we are to forgive and act when we are taken advantage of like a lawsuit, theft, et cetera. Jesus repeats Himself in almost all of his teachings just like He does here.

Verse 27 corralates with 35 telling us to love everyone,
28 corralates with 36 if someone uses you forgive them and show them mercy,
29 with 37 if someone takes something from you do not judge them rather forgive them.
30 with 38 If some one takes your goods away Give it to them and when you do God will make men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you give to them that take from you... That is the measure that He will use as a starting point to press down, shaken together, and run it over. As they are taking it out the back door God will have other men bring it right back in the front door.

What Jesus is trying to get across here is that you might be the only Jesus that someone sees and if you forgive them for doing wrong to you that plants a seed in their heart. I have heard verse 38 quoted before the offering many times and it is taken out of context. I'm not saying that you should not give to the church because YOU SHOULD GIVE TO YOUR LOCAL CHURCH. I am just saying that we need to stop taking scriptures out of context.

Word of Faith is not an Occult

The reference to God calling Abraham the father of many nation is found in Romans 4. It shows how God operates. We are not saying that we are God, rather we are saying that believing and speaking is the way the principal of faith works.

1. In Proverbs 18:21 it tells us that the Power of life and death is in the tongue. Just like the physical power of life and death are in the tongue, the way we eat food, so spiritual life and death are in the power of the tongue by the words we speak, the prayers we pray, the oaths we swear, the vows we make, etc.

Pro 18:21 are in the tongue, those who love it will eat its fruits.

2. Believing in the heart and speaking with the mouth is how we receive (or apply) salvation to our lives. Paul teaches us that with heart is how man believes and with the mouth is how confession is made unto salvation. The word salvation is comes from the original word which is all inclusive (salvation, preservation, deliverance, etc.). This is how the word of faith (believing in God and applying that belief) works.

Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

3. Jesus told us in Mark 11:22 - 24 when Peter saw the fig tree Christ had cursed and it dried up, that we should have faith in God (some translations read have the faith of God or the God kind of faith). He told us that the way faith works is by believing and speaking. Look up the work "say" in a concordance and you will see that it leaves the idea of command. Jesus was giving the disciples faith instructions and how it works.

Mar 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mar 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

4. Jesus also said that a man would be justified or condemned by his words. that you could tell a tree by the fruit it bears and you can tell the condition of the heart by the words that come out of the mouth.

Mat 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Mat 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

5. In the Book of James we are told that the tongue is the most unruly member and that if we learned to control it, it is like a bit in a horses mouth or the rudder on a ship that if you control your tongue that you turn or set the direction. Just like the rudder on a ship and a bit in a horses mouth. This scripture shows how powerful the tongue is. Untamed or uncontrolled it can do serious damage. However, the opposite is true tamed or controlled it can produce life. No man came tame the tongue but the Holy Spirit can tame the tongue and speaking the word is like the "bit" or the "rudder", the word of God controls the tongue so it sets you in the direction of life instead of death.
Jas 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

Jas 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Jas 3:3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

Jas 3:4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

Jas 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Jas 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Jas 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

Jas 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Jas 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Jas 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

Jas 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

Jas 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

Jas 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

Jas 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

Jas 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Jas 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Jesus is also known in Hebrews as the High Priest of our profession or confession. That is not just our profession of faith to be saved but He should be Lord over our mouth and the confessions we make or the words we speak.

So to conclude; the principal of faith is that we should speak out of our mouth what we believe in our heart. Aligning ourselves with the Word of God puts us in agreement with God. Like 1 John says when we pray we ask according to the will of God (which is His word) and if we ask according to His will, we know He hears us and we have the petitions that we desired of Him. Romans 10:17 says, Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So the Word of God, Believing and speaking that word is biblically how we cooperate with God is our prayer life and our believing life. Then we must have corresponding actions or works. Like James says we must show our faith by our works or corresponding action. So, we pray, believe, speak, act, and worship with thanksgiving. That is the rhythm of a believing Christian in the gate of his faith walk. The Character of a Christian is in the fruit that he bears and the lifestyle that he lives in believing, responding, and living according to the commandments of Jesus.

What is happening?

Is Revenge The New Affirmative Action?
If the roles were reversed and this following video was of a 13 year old Black boy being viciously attacked (as the person taping it laughs), would this not be a national headline story?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UY7ujWUvOVQ

Where are the (so-called) Black leaders and activists? Why no public outrage among the Black leadership to condemn the actions of this young Black mob of savages? [Yes... I said savages.] Perhaps, if those Black young men (above) were given stiff jail sentences for their violent act of cowardice THEN this story would have been national news worthy? Maybe then, the (so-called) Black leadership would all haul ass to Virginia to protect the civil rights of the assailants? And speaking of which... Why no public denouncement of Robert Bailey's (one of the Jena6 defendents) recent actions? Get this! Well, I'll just let the video (below) speak for itself:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAZQlgPO8qc

**shaking my head**

And before you give me the stats of bias/disparity against minorities in the media and justice system... STOP... I'm aware of them already. Spare me! This is about taking responsibility for one's own actions... not justifying one's action by the actions of others. Yes, there are 'reasons' for everything, but none of those 'reasons' mean a damn thing to a 13 year old White boy, just trying to walk home from school only to be nearly killed by a horde of racist Black kids. Are they only concerned about what is done to them, but not what is done by them?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eM2B74BQ5bI

Equality for Blacks should not mean that they now excercise their 'freedom' to do unto White people as they've done (or do) unto them. Is revenge the new 'Affirmative Action'?

Life

So Joy and I have been wanting to move out of NY, so much so that we were talking with my parents about moving in with them for a short time. Well, after a whole lot of prayer and advise from friends and family we have decided against it for several reasons. The biggest one being that we do not want to depend on our familys. Mainly because they have been our safety net and have always been there for either of us when we asked for help. Although I am very grateful for my family's help in the past, I have used their help as a crutch more times than I would care to admit. I want Arianna and Joy to be able to look up to me like I have always looked up to my parents. (Thanks for helping me realize this Stacey)

So, Joy and I have decided to put the move off until we can afford it with out any help from anyone. We are planning to move around the summer of next year. Nothing is set in stone but that is the goal that we have set for ourselves.

Everything is going as good as it can be for a new family starting out. Arianna is as healthy as she can be. She has a little case of thrush (a mild yeast infection) but it is clearing up nicely. Joy is settling back in to her job at Staples, and I am loving the time I get to spent with Arianna during the day. Well that's about it for now...

Things that make you go hmmmm

First off, I'm not your usual conspiracy theorist. I normally feel that there's a plausible explanation for things - even if I'm unable to see it at the moment. I like to give people/things the benefit of the doubt. HOWEVER, with the things I've been seeing online and in the news lately have me a bit concerned. I want to share something with you all. The is a documentary that a friend sent to me in an email. It's about 1 hour and 20 min. long. I know, I know, you think that is to long for you to sit and watch, but trust me it's worth it. From what I've seen so far, they make some interesting points. I don't, however, agree with all their theories. It DOES make you think though. Click Here to Watch
Tell me what you think....
